Do you live life with a grateful heart? Let’s face it, we all would like to say yes to this question, but truthfully we all have times when we want what we can’t have or desire to have more than we need.

Truly being grateful is a condition of the heart and not just the mind. Everything you do and say flows from your heart. We live in a culture that puts material desires and wealth above being happy with having what you need.

We focus more on what is wrong and the problems that may not ever arise than we do on the One who is in control of it all. Perspective is everything. Learning to see the good around you when we are trained to see what isn't takes practice.

When it comes to faith, you have to start by being faithful to God with the smaller things like praying to start each day, learning to bite your tongue in the car when you really want to yell at the person in front of you, or stewarding your money well and choosing to only buy lunch during the week on Fridays and packing the rest of the week.

Being faithful in the small things helps you to develop an attitude of gratitude. This builds a foundation in your life that can help you stand when faith is needed for bigger things—such as the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, or a relationship that’s falling apart.

When Jesus is walking with you and you’re being intentional to live by faith in who He is, it becomes easier to choose gratefulness and thankfulness over worrying and never being satisfied with what you have. Greet your day with thanksgiving and meet His face with a thankful heart.

No matter what you’re facing, choose to praise Him because you are thankful He is with you and He will never fail you. There is nothing greater than giving praise right in the middle of your storms. The devil doesn’t like when you praise Him. He believes if He can steal your joy and gratitude then there is no way you will want to live for God.

How can you joyfully move forward in this moment with an attitude of gratitude?
