Our minds have a tendency to dwell on things that most of the time we don’t have the power to change or that may not even happen at all. We see more of the bad things when we are feeling bad.
Optimism is in abundance when things are going well. It takes faith in God to know things are still good and He is still good even when our current circumstances don’t reflect goodness.
The people we surround ourselves with makes a difference. Being around those who are negative and pessimistic all the time will bring us down too.
It affects your mood, your thoughts, your motivations, and your behaviors. You are who you associate yourself with.
On the flip side, joy, love, and hope are magnetic. You will be drawn to people with these types of personalities and if you are his way, others will be drawn to you.
It’s harder though to be optimistic when things are anything but. So many are dealing with health and financial issues, isolation, depression, anxiety, fear, relationship issues, and maybe even verbal or physical abuse.
When things aren’t going well, it’s difficult to be upbeat and radiate joy when you just aren’t feeling it. But I ask you today to remember there is always something to be thankful for.
God sees you and He cares deeply for you. Once you pour out all your worries and stress on Him, for He is the only one who can do anything about it, leave it all there at His feet.
Let Him clean it up and put you back together. Allow Him to give you back your joy and peace and to remind you of all you have to be thankful for.
How does releasing it all to Him so He can work in your life change the way you see the goodness around you?
