Going on a hike, you can only plan so much for what you may encounter—different kinds of terrain, animals, hydration, and heat. You can determine the course you will take, but there will always be things you didn’t expect along the way.
When playing a board game, you plan to win, but sometimes you get bumped back to start or lose a turn. These things are always a possibility. No one ever anticipates they will actually happen to them. Your chances of winning are just as good as losing, right?
This is the same in life. You can plan the direction you want to go in life with your dreams and ambitions, but God ultimately is the one who determines your steps to get there. You have free will to make your own choices so sometimes you will decide to do things that don’t line up with the steps He planned out.
Something amazing happens though. As you accept Christ, acknowledging what He did for you, He walks with. As He takes your hand and stays close, He guides you back to the steps that lead to your best life—the one He had for you all along.
Your choices are made in an instant and evolve over time as you go. God’s plans were made before you were ever born and just as He never changes, His plans for you to live a life of purpose will never change. We are all born to bring glory and honor to Him and to steer others back to God.
What course have you planned for your life and how has God guided your steps along the way to keep you on the right path?
