Foundation

When putting a team together, you really want the best available people who can work to get the job done well. This goes for any projects that need to be done.

First what needs to happen though is a foundation needs to be laid to support the work to be done. A business won’t be successful unless it has a good board of directors or at least someone leading the charge.

The same can be said for the church. Too often we as Christians misunderstand our role in the church. We all have special gifts and abilities that are God-given for us to reach people for Christ.

It can be too easy though to become wrapped up in the church needing you that serving God by serving others turns into “if I’m not there they can’t function without me.”

Your skill set may be unique and all of us together make up the Body of Christ—the church, but God doesn’t need you to work for Him.

He wants you to have an open heart that is obedient to Him. No one person or family, even the pastor, should be the foundation on which the church it set.

No one can lay a better foundation than the one already laid for us by Jesus. He established the church long ago just like He establishes your steps daily.

No person on this earth does anything without God noticing. Nothing you or I can do will change the way He feels about us.

Accepting Christ as your Savior and committing to honor Him by the way you live is the most important decision you will make. This choice sets the firm foundation for your life.

On this foundation (Jesus) you are built up and you will grow spiritually. On Christ the solid rock we stand. All other ground is sinking sand that swallow us up and keep us from God.

Psalm 127:1 says that unless the Lord builds the house, the work of the builders is wasted. Don’t go through life wasting time and effort doing things not of God.

Seek Him and allow Him to be your firm foundation to build your life upon. How is your life more secure when you put your faith and trust in the foundation of Jesus Christ?
