Cleansing and Confessing

Have you ever had to confess to something you have done wrong? I picture a child being asked if they ate cookies while they have a mess all over their face and they are trying to deny their obvious guilt. Sometimes as an adult, our lies are not so apparent to others.

We have all been born into a fallen world and because of this it is in our nature to be attracted to and fall prey to sin. Sin is the greatest problem you face and if you don’t choose Jesus above all else it will be your greatest downfall.

We make the mistake of accepting sin into our lives and holding it so closely because it becomes a normal part of who we are. To change would mean you would change who you are and most people don’t believe the choices they make are wrong.

Any decisions you make and actions you take that do not line up with God’s will for your life is sin. Even Christians can make bad choices, but forgiveness is available to all—not just those who are already believers in Christ.

God loved you and me so much He sent His Son to pay the price for ours sins. Everyone is covered by the blood of Jesus because of the cross where He paid the ultimate price and made the ultimate sacrifice for everything we could ever do that fills our lives with sin.

While we were still sinners He made this sacrifice. This means you don’t have to have your life together and already be doing things “right” to accept Christ. Jesus said He came for the sick, hurting, and broken—not the perfect and blameless.

The reality is none of us are perfect and blameless so this means He came to save all of us. At some point we all come to the realization you aren’t in control and God wants to offer you salvation and reconciliation through Jesus.

When you openly declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe with your heart that He lived, died, and God made Him rise from the grave salvation will be yours. Confession to God results in the cleansing of your sin.

It’s that easy to reconcile your relationship with the Father through the Son. How amazing is it that your eternity and the wages of your sins can be completely changed by just confessing to and believing in Jesus?
