Are you comfortable with public speaking? Many people are not, myself included, but I will if I have to—with sweaty palms and my face various shades of red.
Sometimes there are things about what God calls us to do that we are apprehensive about. Maybe His call on your life includes being more in front of people than behind the scenes that you’re used to. Or perhaps He is asking you to work for or start a new organization in your community that will help others in some way.
It’s important to note, what has the most impact on others doesn’t usually happen inside your comfort zone. God calls you to more and to step out into the life He’s calling you to with His strength and putting your faith and trust in Him—not moving forward with fear and worry.
Above all else God is still and always will be in control. Yes, you and I have free will and will make choices sometimes against God’s better advisement. When you do this things never work out for the best and if you allow Him, Jesus will come beside you and redirect your steps back to the path.
Whenever I do or say anything I first remember that even the lowliest job I’m to do it as if I’m working for the Lord. Even if it’s cleaning bathrooms or something else you don’t care to be doing, do it as if God had asked you to do it.
When Jesus speaks, He acknowledges His words are not His own. The words you speak are a reflection of your heart. If God has your heart and your focus is fixed on Him, your life will be a testament to His goodness—from the words you speak to the things you do.
Accepting Christ, what He’s done and how it affects you, allows Him to come into your life in such a way that His Spirit (the Holy Spirit) resides in you. The Holy Spirit guides you and Jesus walks with you. Jesus is God the Son and God is God the Father. All three of them are one and make up the Holy Trinity.
You can’t have one without the other because well that’s just not how it is. With all three for you, who can be against you? Everything you do and everything you say will be honoring to Him and He will craft it all into a divine act for your good and His glory.
What is God asking you to do that you feel is outside of your comfort zone?
