Have you ever watched a blacksmith practice their craft? There are different ways to do what they do, several different metals they use, and all of them are used to create different things.
Long ago they crafted weapons and horseshoes. Today some still forge these things, but more of what is made are works of art.
No matter what, the impurities in the metal make it difficult to do anything with them unless the impurities are removed. The refining process allows for the material to be molded and shaped into useable objects.
Refining is not bringing about a chemical change to an object or adding anything in. Instead it keeps the material the same and rids it from impurities.
We all go through a refining process when we accept Christ. He searches your heart and frees you from impurities that have weighed you down and made you feel like you aren’t good enough.
Making the choice to follow Christ doesn’t add extra things to your life. It helps remove the things you have held too close to when you didn’t have Him to hold on to.
There are times when you feel like you’re in the fires of life and just when you are at your limit, God comes through in His timing as only He can. He pulls you from the flames and puts them out with His grace and peace.
Refining only makes us better. Don’t focus on the process, but instead focus on the One who brings you out. The abundance God wants to pour out in your life will be more than you could eve imagine.
He is that good. Is He refining you today for your good and His glory? How can we pray for you today?
