What makes a person good? Is it the things they do or maybe the way they treat others? Maybe being a good person is part of the legacy you leave when you depart from this world.
Legacy is your lasting impact on people and the world around you. Your loyalty and kindness matters, but what matters even more is being rooted in Christ. Without Him you wouldn't be able to be the best you that you could be.
We learn many things from Christ about the right way to live. His loyalty to God and to serve God by helping others is not to be overlooked. His kindness did not make Him a pushover. Instead, it is what empowered Him to have compassion for mankind.
If you are to live like Christ, these two things should be rooted down deep inside of you so that who you are stems from them. God is love and sent His love to be with us in the form of Jesus.
Then upon His physical departure from us, He sent His Spirit to live in us. If Christ is love and lived with loyalty and kindness, then having His spirit live in you ensures that you will too. You just have to choose to let it be the forefront of who you are.
Examine your life today and see what or Who is at the root of who you are. How does your answer impact the legacy you are leaving?
