Hidden Treasures

There is so much going on in our world right now. Unrest seems the norm and disagreements have divided, families, friends and communities. Good does still exist and can be found, but you have to intentionally search for it.

It’s a fact that we can’t do everything, but we can do something. The main problem is where you get your insight, understanding, and motivation. Your words and deeds flow from what’s in your heart—sometimes intentionally and other times subliminally.

You will find true insight and Godly understanding when you seek Him with all your heart, mind, and soul. These things are what give you a clearer vision—they are like hidden treasures that can only be found in Jesus.

Everything else in this world will skew your views and take you down side paths and streets that were never meant to be a part of God’s plan for you. The things of this world will be enticing and you will want to engage for fear of what will happen when you don’t choose a side.

More important though than choosing a side is choosing Him. Choose to live for God. Seek Him for the truth and for insight on how to see the world and people through His eyes. We tend to think critically, but God can help us think compassionately.

Jesus walked this earth with a heart of compassion. This doesn’t mean He took pity on people, felt sorry for them, or tried to think how He would feel in their place. He took it upon Himself to be with them.

Compassion is simply standing with and sharing the load of others. No one should be alone in their suffering and hardships. As Christ followers we are called to show Christ to the world.

If Jesus is compassionate and loving when it comes to being there for people so should we. Where has being compassionate like Jesus taken you lately?
