Everything has a cost. The first thing we do when offered something free is read the fine print—as nothing is ever truly and completely free. There is one exception.
To redeem something is to buy or purchase it. A long time ago, slaves would be bought at a price, redeemed, and their freedom could be a reality if they put in enough time with the person who bought them.
We were all enslaved by our sin and the wages of our choices were death. But God wanted more for me and for you. He sent His Son, Jesus, to redeem us. God paid the highest price for you—the precious sacrificial blood of the Spotless Lamb of God.
Jesus’ blood was enough to not only redeem you, but to redeem everyone in the whole world who was present at the moment of His death and who would live until the end of time. He purchased your freedom and through His sacrifice He secured a spot in heaven for you.
There is nothing you must do to earn the freedom He’s already paid for. The only fine print, if you want to call it that, is you must accept Christ. Believe He existed and that He is who He says He is—the Son of God.
Believe He lived, died, and rose again, and then ascended into heaven to come back when God says it’s time. In the time between, He has sent His Holy Spirit to live in us and dwell among us. In His Spirit is His presence.
With His presence comes peace, love, joy, and freedom like you’ve never known before. Nothing you experience, no circumstances you face, and no people you meet are the result of chance. God’s will is perfect and He works everything on in heaven and earth to function within His will.
How will you live differently knowing God’s will reigns, He is in control, and your freedom has been bought with the highest price—the blood of Christ?
