The holidays are quickly approaching and while some may not travel this year, many will visit friends and family and need a place to stay. Usually when people come to visit you around this time it is the hospitable thing to do to prepare a room for them to stay.
Sometimes this isn’t possible due to the capacity of your humble abode. So arrangements are made to stay in nearby lodging. What happens though in this busy season, and with limited capacity in some locations, when there are no rooms available?
Oh, technology is a wondrous thing. To me it’s quite impersonal, but is a way of linking family, friends, and others together who can’t physically enjoy one another’s company. There is one place though that never runs out of room and always has space for whoever comes.
When Jesus walked the earth He told people that in His Father’s house there is always more than enough room for all. In heaven, there is room in abundance in the house of God. Accepting Christ writes your name in the Lamb’s Book of Life, which “reserves” your spot.
Jesus went before us when He ascended into heaven after the resurrection so that He could prepare a place for us. This was a promise He made to us all.
So no matter when the time comes and the days God has planned for you here are through, you will have a room with a view in the most beautiful place—far beyond anything you can perceive or imagine. Your name is in the guest book, but not as a guest. You are family—sons and daughters of the King.
Your room will be ready. All the details will be thought of and planned for. You will have a place waiting for you in the best place you could ever spend eternity with the best people.
