When little children talk it can be difficult to hear them. Even if they can be understood, their voices have a tender tone to them. I believe we can still be this way when talking to our heavenly Father.
We lack the boldness to talk to God about what is really going on in our lives. God already knows your requests before you ask, but He truly loves to hear you speak to Him.
Prayer is all about communicating with our Father, but communication goes two ways—speaking and listening. So while He loves to hear you speak, He also says things to you in your spirit for you to listen.
Right before Christ breathed His last earthly breath, He says, “Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit” (Luke 23:46). He was entrusting His Spirit back to God because it was His in the first place. Jesus is God incarnate.
So Jesus the Son, God the Father, and God’s Spirit—the Holy Spirit—are all three in one. They are all the same—the Holy Trinity. When Christ died His Spirit was left with us as an advocate to help us through this life. When you accept the sacrifice of Christ and turn the reigns of your life back over to God, His Spirit lives on the inside of you.
He is there to guide you and to be God with you. God loves you so much. After creation of the world and everything within it, God didn’t then cut Himself off from all of us never to be heard from again. He sent Himself to earth so that in Christ’s earthly death and Godly resurrection He could be with us again.
Never stop praying. It’s your lifeline to God. Pray with boldness, knowing He is in control and will work all things for your good and His glory. Every time you speak to Him, He bends down to hear you as a good Father does.
He cares for you. What can we be praying for in agreement with you today?
