Happy New Year! Wherever we are going has to be better than where we’ve been. While it’s good to reflect on our past, it’s important not to dwell there. Your past doesn’t define you or your future, but it does leave a mark.
In overcoming our past, we all have an opportunity to move on with a fresh start. We all have hurts, hardships, and hangups, but there is one thing we all fall into. Sin has the ability to entice and entrap each of us.
Whatever you were dealing with yesterday, pray and ask God to help you move on from it and for His help to get through it. Prayer has the ability to change things. When you pray God steps in. Many people are intimidated by prayer.
Some think you have to use the right words or say it in a special way, but prayer is really just about talking to God. Sometimes it can be awkward to talk to someone you haven't talked to in a while.
But somehow, talking to God is different. When you pick the conversation back up with Him the words just flow. It’s like you never stopped.
We are to pray for God to intervene in our lives, but also pray for others. Sometimes it takes us interceding for them or standing with them for God’s power to work.
