We have all been born with a purpose. All throughout your life, the skills and talents needed to fulfill your purpose are cultivated in you.
Every test and obstacle you face has the ability to strengthen your faith. Jesus was born into big obstacles.
He was born of two parents who were not married when they found out they were having a baby—even though it was through the Holy Spirit the world wouldn’t have seen it that way.
There was much corruption in the world and opposition from rulers about His birth that He faced hard times before He was of age to speak. Still, He grew up into a God-fearing man and loved the Lord so much He would do anything for Him.
Even once Jesus knew what His purpose was, to come as a sinless sacrifice to save the world, He embraced it and took up His cross. If you consider yourself a follower of Christ then you identify with Him.
When you’re born again, you die to yourself and are reborn with His Spirit living in you. So like Jesus, taking up your cross will cost you your life.
This doesn’t mean that you’ll have to physically die as some have and still do for Him, but you die to your own way of doing things and submit to God’s will. His will and ways are always far better than ours.
If your hearts desire truly is to follow Jesus, then the sacrifice of what you want versus what He has for you is necessary. How have you had to deny yourself to live for Him?
