Wind in Your Sails

What things do you look for in a friendship or any relationship? Of course honesty, trust, respect, and love are important, but what about laughter?

In a world full of uncertainty and a society that changes loyalty as fast as the tides, laughter holds us together. Sometimes you have to laugh or you’ll cry.

You may be going through some things and laughter and joy are the farthest things from the way you feel. It’s hard to not let our feelings affect our emotions.

If you do, it means you’ve let things go from your head to your heart. Pain, anxiety, depression, and hateful thoughts all affect the way you act toward others.

I’m not saying it’s not right to feel certain emotions and feelings, but the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 10:5 to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. Every thought?

Whenever this negativity comes into your head, the most important thing you can do is take it to God in prayer. Give Him your thoughts and express how you’re feeling and He will give you peace and restore your joy.

It can be easy to become upset because life isn’t going exactly as you wanted it to and you’re not where you thought you’d be. But the great thing is, you’re right where God wants you to be. No matter where you are in life, He meets you where you are and creates you as a new person with a new focus to live for Him.

Life is a journey. Think about sailing on a boat. The tides are always turning. Sometimes the wind is so strong it knocks you on your bottom and you struggle to get up again. You can either choose in life to let the wind knock you down and out or you can adjust your sails and embrace the journey.

God is with you and for you in your journey. Jesus of all people knows there will be hard times. We have learned this through His life’s story. But better off is the person who prays to Him who understands.

Let the wind refresh you and let God help you to adapt to the changing tides and the twists and bends you didn’t see coming. Fully rely on Him and He will continuously restore you soul with His peace, His hope, His grace, and His love.

Let Him help you to live joyfully with a cheerful heart. Have you let God be with you on your journey lately or have you been trying to make it on your own?
