You’re watching a movie or your favorite T.V. show and you’re holding your breath because the hero is in danger. He’s surrounded on all sides and it doesn't look good.
This is how we view being surrounded. It’s almost always a bad circumstance of events. Being surrounded almost always leads to surrender.
When we think of surrender, it often makes us see the person as weak. If you have ever had to surrender in any kind of situation, you may have personally had these feelings of weakness and not being good enough.
When it comes to giving reverence to God as the Almighty, Omnipotent One, surrender is the best thing you can do. It actually makes you stronger than you would be on your own.
To be a Christ follower means you are willing to fully surrender and turn your life over to Him. You are willingly making the choice to follow His plans for your life instead of living in self gratification.
God also created us to be in community with one another. So surrounding yourself with other believers who can encourage you and help build you up spiritually is very important for your journey with Jesus.
