Albert Einstein once said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” I guess many of us live insane lives as a result of this statement.
So many of us live day in and day out hoping for something to change. But if you don’t start thinking differently nothing will ever change.
Actions start with a belief, then a feeling, before showing up outwardly as something you do. So the idea is if you change your thoughts you’ll change your life.
This is true, but you can still change your thoughts to different ones that are still bad or maybe unproductive. So where should you direct your thoughts to truly change for the better?
Romans 12:2 says you can renew your mind by transforming it. When you accept Jesus’ sacrifice, His death and ultimate resurrection, you’re accepting a new way of thinking.
A caterpillar morphs into a butterfly and once it does so it can never transform back to the way it was. When you hand your life over to Christ and He transforms you from the inside out, there is no way you will ever be what you once were.
When you let Him renew your mind, you disregard any thoughts that don’t line up with who He is and who He says you are. Embracing the new you He is creating you to be keeps you from conforming to this world.
You may be thinking that you accepted Christ, but it didn’t make you live any differently. Then I ask you, did you truly give your heart and your life to Him?
Becoming a true Christ follower is a holy transformation only God can perform. Have you allowed God to really change the way you live and the way you think?
