Our whole lives cannot be lived on the high ground. There will be times in the mountains, in the valleys, and yes in the desert.
Even when you live your life with God at the head of it, you will still spend time in the desert. These are times you are wandering and weeping—wanting more.
Sometimes God doesn’t rescue you from the desert because it is there you learn something that makes you stronger than you were before you walked through it.
While you wander and wonder during this uncertain time taking place, keep praying and believing God will be there for us all. No one walks alone.
More importantly though, pray and ask God to show you what He wants you to learn at this time. Even if you haven’t been affected health wise by what’s going on, chances are everything has impacted you in some way.
Maybe you have been laid off, not knowing when or if your job will open again. Maybe you are having issues helping your kids finish out the school year at home because let’s face it, you didn’t go to school to be a teacher because it’s not your skill set.
Maybe financially your family is taking a hit and your future is altogether uncertain. Or maybe you’re on the frontline facing patients head on and praying every day you don’t take what you’re facing back to your own family.
Whatever the case may be, you are in the desert is some way right now. Many good people in the Bible found themselves in the desert from time to time—Jesus included.
It is in the desert your character is tested and your faith strengthened. The experience will help to shape you into who you need to be on the other side of the desert.
What desert are you walking through during this time and what do you feel God is teaching you through the trials you are facing?
