Think back to when you were a kid. Did you have a play set of toys that was your favorite thing to play with?
Whatever the most popular shows for the time was what you loved to play with. The best way to play of course was with the full set.
But chances are, like it is today, all the characters, pieces, and accessories you needed for all the make-believe scenarios were sold in separate packages.
When you don’t have all the pieces together to cooperate in the plans you have made, the plan has to be altered to postponed until your set is complete.
Well a couple thousand years ago, God had to execute the part of His plan where He redeemed to world. The most epic plan ever!
In order to make it come together, He had to have all the characters to pull it off. It was time and so He called on the Virgin Mary who was merely about fourteen.
She was set to marry Joseph, but an angel of God came to her first and told her she had been chosen to carry and be the mother of His only Son who would save the world (part of the plan).
By the grace of God, she accepted her purpose from Him. She shakily told Joseph, hoping He would believe and understand. He was to be Jesus’ father, as He was in the right family line (part of the plan).
Joseph was visited in a dream by the same angel and He decided to take on his purpose with Mary and their Son Jesus.
Next came baby Jesus. He had been another foretold part of the plan for many, many years. You can say He was born into it, but as He grew He agreed to His purpose as well.
Then there is you. Everyone comes into this world as a sinner and the only one to save any of us is a Savior. No human would do, but Jesus was no human.
He was born in the flesh, but was very much God among us—who would take on your sins on the cross and be raised back to life. Were it not for Him, your sin would have condemned you forever.
But God! He had a plan. All the characters in His plan had to be not only present and accounted for, but willing to fulfill their purpose.
If you aren’t willing to fulfill your purpose from God, what plan will be on the line? Your decision doesn’t just affect you, but it will have an impact on the lives and eternity of others.
Pray and ask God what He wants you to do with your life to honor Him. Will you be willing to change the world and make a difference in His name?
