What is your personal mantra? Ever heard someone say, “Whatever will be, will be?”
Do you believe this? God created everything including Adam and Eve in six days. He gave them a beautiful garden to live in and tend to. They had it all! So how in the world could they have even fallen prey to the tactics of the deceiver?
It happened to them and it can happen to you. The quickest way to change the path someone is on is to give them a choice. Choices cause change—whether you choose to continuing doing what you’ve been doing or decide to go in a different direction.
Adam and Eve were told not to eat from the forbidden tree and they didn’t plan to because God was so good. But the devil is sneaky. He will do anything he can to throw you off your game. The last thing he wants is for you to follow what God wants.
Even though God warned them, He knew they would choose not to listen. He knew that one day He would have to send His Son to reconcile His broken relationship with all of us. Nothing takes Him by surprise and He has factored all the times you would obey and even the times you wouldn’t into the path of your life.
If you live by the idea that whatever will happen will happen and there’s nothing you can do about it, then Jesus’ obedience means nothing. Why would God have sent His only Son as a Savior for us?
Adam disobeyed God and all of mankind were deemed as sinners. There is nothing you can do to save yourself from the fate of sin—death.
But Jesus! His obedience to God’s purpose for Him turned it all around again for everyone. You can be in a close, personal relationship with God again and live for eternity with Him and it’s all because of Jesus!
Have you accepted God’s free gift of the sacrifice of Jesus for your sins? What is keeping you from embracing your freedom that’s already been bought with the blood of Christ?
