Before starting a new job you may have been required to attend training sessions or even shadow someone to learn how to execute your role. Often it is so much information at once, it’s hard to retain it all. So you get into the groove simply by doing your job.
What would happen if you were not trained in any way and were just thrown into a job without knowing all the details and expectations? This can be a set up to fail.
You have been born with a purpose and God has given you specific skills to fulfill your purpose. There are some people whom God has given specific gifts within ministry and leadership.
It can be difficult to get along with those in leadership. I have been on both sides of the leadership ladder. When you are the one who reports to someone else, remember God asks us to respect those in leadership. Work as if you are working to please Him and not any person. That’s where our joy comes from.
If you are the person who is a leader and has others report to you, remember that your position is one that you would not be in without the grace of God. Extend this grace to others under your guidance. Wield your position for good and not evil or selfish gain.
You were created to serve. We all have been given a purpose that serves an eternal service. You and I have been called to help build up the body of Christ—the church!
Are you attending and involved with serving at a local church? If so, please share below how you are helping build up the local church through your service. We would love to hear from you!
