We are in a wonderful season of thanksgiving and many people will celebrate Thanksgiving next week. Some people though are going through a season where they don’t feel grateful for the trials and troubles they are enduring.
I know it is hard when you’re the one in the thick of it and someone tries to give you words of encouragement. You don’t accept the encouragement because you wonder how they can even understand what you are going through.
One person does know what you are going through—God. We are to give thanks to Him because He is good. Not because everything we face in this life will be good and pleasant, but because God Himself is a good God.
Our thanks and praise to Him is an offering. It’s part of how we worship Him. Your offering is an act of voluntary and sacrificial surrender. You are saying to Him, “Here I am. Let Your will be done for you are good.”
Only God has the ability to restore you. Only He can restore your prosperity. Prosperity can partially mean being well off financially, but as a whole it means to be successful and thriving.
Doesn’t that sound like something you want to be—successful and thriving? Lean into Him and He can make you spiritually new. He can renew or regenerate your life. God is just waiting to restore you to a better or higher state than before.
All you have to do is praise Him always and thank Him for the things you do have in your life. Praise Him just because of who He is!
