There are many things we try to partially accept. The opinions of others, which we can accept even if they are different than ours and just not adopt them. Our life is good when things are good. Then when things aren’t so good we want to abandon ship.
Many believe the Bible to be the Word of God with many valuable things for us within it, but when something goes against what we believe to be true we can’t accept that part. Life comes with good and bad, challenges and triumphs.
Jesus didn’t have a life of just one or the other. He went through both so how could our lives not contain any hard or challenging times as well? God sent His only Son to this earth to go before you.
He endured every good and bad emotion, physical pain, and indescribable joy just so He would personally be able to relate to anything and everything you would ever go through. Jesus knew He was here for a purpose and because that was His focus He accepted whatever came His way.
When you accept Christ and surrender your life to Him, your devotion to Him cannot be with one foot in and one out—this isn’t the hokey pokey. Your eternity hangs in the balance of your choice to accept and life for Him.
Mary, mother of Jesus, probably was scared and nervous on many levels when the angel appeared to her to tell her she would not only give birth to a son, but that He was going to be the Savior the world has been waiting for.
She did not waiver in her faith and as a humble servant of God, she chose to accept what He had for her no matter what it would cost her. Mary knew giving birth to Jesus would change all the reasons she thought she was here.
Her obedience to accept God’s path for her and her prayer for God to have everything come to pass just as He said it would, changed the course of her life as much as it did for yours and mine.
Are you truly accepting of whatever God has for you in this life or are you still trying to partially accept Him and still make decisions based on the impact to you?
