Nothing in this life is certain. Things are always changing and there is no one thing you can trust to fully put your faith in.
This last year has thrown most of us for a loop. So many things we had planned were canceled and the true colors of others really shined through—especially on social media. Uncertainty is certain while we live this life because each person has free will to make their own choices.
Free will was given to us so you could choose to walk this life with Christ. In giving us free will though God knew the risks. He was willing to take the risks for the benefit of you choosing His Son.
Jesus came and died and was in this world, but He was never of this world. When you choose to accept Christ’s sacrifice and live a surrendered life to the will of God, you understand you and I are not of this world either.
This is not our home and when all is said and done and Jesus returns, this world will pass away. The hope lies in our ability to spend eternity with God in heaven. No matter how many years you have to spend here, eternity is forever.
When you’re rooted in Christ, the natural thing to do is talk to God in prayer all the time. The Bible says to pray without ceasing.
Sometimes prayer leaves us discouraged and can stunt our faith if we let it. When answers we prayed for don’t come or when we feel God is waiting too long on the return, we take matters into our own hands or lose hope.
Let this be a reminder to you today that even if you have never prayed before today or even if you pray all the time, God hears you. He always keeps His promises and prayers are answered in His time and according to His will.
So while you don’t feel a prayer is answered, it may have been but just not how you wanted it to be. God knows best though and sometimes doesn’t give us exactly what we ask for because He is sovereign and knows best.
Even in this time when so many are sick and dying, it can be hard to understand why God doesn’t heal them. Lean into His understanding and trust Him. Healing doesn’t always happen this side of heaven, but it does take place as you cross into eternity.
Do you have faith God is who He says He is? Do you have faith that He knows best and always keeps His promises to you?
