You are to give Him thanks when you pray—first for who He is, then for already coming through with the answer that lines up with His will and plan. This is hard for some people. Having the faith to know God is working on your behalf when He doesn’t appear to be is tough.
Faith is hard, but if faith was based on what you can see then it wouldn’t be faith. When you thank God for who He is, you focus on the awesomeness of God. This should be your focus instead of waiting to see what He will do for you.
God isn’t a magic genie that is there to grant your every wish. He loves to hear us talk to Him and tell Him everything. He has a plan for your life and mine. When you make your prayers known to Him, He will answer.
The answer isn’t always what you wanted to happen, but you have to trust that God always gives you what you need. You could throw a fit for not getting your way, or you could thank Him for answering your prayer.
Trust Him and sacrifice your own feelings, emotions, and expectations because you know God is taking care of you like a good Father does. He cares deeply for you. He calls all Christ followers His sons and daughters.
