There was a time when many were obsessed with finding the fountain of youth. As legend has it, a person could be restored to their youth merely drinking from it or bathing in it.
It is just that though—a legend. There is no evidence of ever finding such a place or anything that can restore a person and keep them young. It’s a part of life that we all age as we go. Even Jesus came to earth as a little baby and grew to be a man.
Besides, if you could, would you really want to live forever? God has given us this one life. No day can be lived again and time ticks by every second. It’s time to use our time to it’s full capacity. This doesn’t mean you should be on the go and doing something every second.
There is a time for productivity and a time for rest. Both are equally important even if we don’t treat them as equals. So even though there isn’t some magical fountain to give you lasting youth, there is something else far more valuable available to us all.
In Jesus there in life—eternal life. He is the fountain of life. There is no way to get to heaven except through accepting Christ’s sacrifice for you and confessing your wrongs to Him. He is the only way to live this life to it’s fullest.
