When we think of nobility, our first thought is of a royal line of matriarchs. In reality though being a noble person means simply to be very good or excellent. We all have the potential to live noble lives. Even though men and women can be called noble, this post will highlight what makes a noble woman.
Have you ever known a woman who made a big difference in your life or the lives of others? Maybe it was your mother, sister, or a close friend. Would you say they were noble?
The Bible defines the attributes of a noble woman in Proverbs 31. A noble woman is wise, giving, loving, and God-fearing. She seeks wise counsel from God and others who also have a close, personal relationship with God. She listens and lives out what she is told—knowing God knows more about things than she does.
She gives to those in need out of the joy in her heart that God has so lovingly given to her. When you walk closely with Jesus, you live with the joy of the Lord in your life. The joy helps you to realize what you have has been given to you by God and you can’t help but to share out of the abundance God has given to you.
A noble woman is loving. She loves at all times and is willing to give someone the benefit of the doubt and to really listen to what they have to say because she cares for them. She puts others before herself and sacrifices her time to help in any way she can—although this doesn’t mean she never takes time for herself.
A God-fearing woman is also a noble woman. She loves and respects God and has great reverence for Him. Knowing He is all she needs and loves her more than she could ever comprehend means she is totally dependent on God for everything.
It is one thing to do noble things and quite another to live a noble life. If you are fortunate enough to know a noble woman, hold onto her, respect her, support her, and love her with the love of Jesus.
Who do you know that is living a noble life?
