Have you ever had someone tell you something that was going to happen and you didn’t know whether to believe them? Maybe what they were telling you was too good to be true or seemed to be an impossibility.
This is how the disciples felt when Jesus told them He was going to be tortured and die. They didn’t feel that was possible. Then, He told them not only would He be tortured and die, but He would rise again. This really felt too good to be true.
Oh I’m sure they wished this to be true after He was crucified, but when Saturday came and He was still dead and entombed they probably didn’t hold out much hope for Him to come back.
God had a plan. His plans are always greater than our understanding and He works everything together for our ultimate good and His highest glory.
After waiting through uncertainty, Sunday did come. What He said came true! None of His promises will ever be returned void.
He sent His only Son to die and atone for your sin and mine. This is the greatest gift that has ever been given. Your sin should had condemned you to spiritual death, but Jesus!
He paid the highest price for you and was the only One who could do it. Jesus willingly laid down His life for you to be free. Are you taking advantage His free gift of freedom and eternal life one day with God in heaven?
