There are few things in life that are certain. We are all human and it is a fact that just as we all have been born, our earthly bodies will also one day cease to live. Jesus came to earth as a little baby to earthly parents as an earthly child—even though He is the Son of God and God incarnate.
He lived and then on what we call Good Friday, He died. Until this time, people had to atone for their sins by providing a sacrifice to God to make things right again. Because Jesus never sinned, He alone was the one who could be a pure sacrifice to God by laying down His life.
His sacrifice allows us to have eternal life with God in heaven and gives us the option to live for Him while on the earth. Yes, Jesus died that day on the cross, but Sunday is coming. On the Saturday in between, no one knew for sure what was coming and they were mourning what had played out the day before.
Saturday is a day of waiting. It’s a day when things in your life my feel uncertain. The circumstances you’ve gone through or are going through seem overwhelming and you’re tired of waiting to come out the other side.
Don’t lose hope. Fix your eyes upon Jesus. Know that Sunday is coming. All hope isn’t lost because He is our hope. His death gave you life. Because He lives, you can face tomorrow and you will come out on the other side.
What does having new life through the death of Jesus mean to you?
