Most of us have been to parties or even seen movies where certain people arrive and before you even see they are there you can sense their presence. It’s usually someone who is known for being popular for one reason or another and sometimes it’s not always a positive kind of popular.
As Christ followers, it should be our goal to have people feel this way when we are near because of Christ’s Spirit in us—not because of our own awesomeness. He is the light of the world and a light cannot help but be seen and noticed.
It cannot be hidden. Because Jesus lives in you through His Spirit, you are a light wherever you go. People will be drawn to you and not know why. By outward appearances you seem just like them, but there is just something about you they can’t put their finger on.
This is the power of Christ at work in us and through us. The saying at Waymaker, “See what God can do through you,” isn’t just a catchy phrase. It’s a way of life.
When you live with Christ at the center of your life, His presence goes before you, all around you, and radiates from you. Associating so strongly with Him affects your entire being and even reaches those around you.
The love of God shown to us through His Son, Jesus, infiltrates your life until you’re overflowing with more of Him than of yourself. So the it factor that others can’t put their finger on is simply the presence of God in your life.
His presence cannot be hidden or kept a secret. It’s meant to be enjoyed and shared with everyone. Are you living your life in such a way that people can see the presence of God in your life?
