The Truth of Right and Wrong

With different situations come different choices to make. The first thing that usually comes to mind is making a good choice or a bad one.

What if that wasn’t the most important thing to consider? You live in this world, but it doesn’t mean you have to make decisions based on what the world sees as right and wrong.

Sometimes I believe the truth scale that surrounds us has become extremely skewed. There are so many flaws in it that what is truly right is seen as wrong and what once was wrong is accepted as the norm.

When Jesus first told His disciples He would be put to death but would rise again on the third day, they didn’t exactly comprehend what He said.

Even though they had experienced the life and miracles of Jesus in a real and tangible way, they were still human and defaulted to relying on their own understanding.

Peter reacted to Jesus’ news by saying, “Never! This will never happen to you!”

The response Jesus had for him is key. He rebuked him and told him that he was thinking about his own selfish, human concern—not having Him around anymore.

Jesus was more concerned with living out the will of God. When you are more focused on what God wants for your life, your own thoughts and desires become less.

He wanted them to learn that in order to truly follow Him, you must deny yourself. In doing so, you wouldn’t lose yourself, but instead you would save your life for all eternity.

Jesus wants to save you if only you’d fully let Him. He’s already paid the price for you and loves you more than you could ever know.

What is stopping you from denying yourself and having a mindset focused on the plans God has for you?
