Won't You Be My Neighbor?

How well do you know your neighbors? It’s a sad reality that many people come home after a long day and after they pull into the garage and exit the car, they immediately close the door to the outside world and stay in for the rest of the night. We are just done adulting.

You and I were not made to live life alone. We were made for community. God created us to need one another. From the moment we are born, we crave the physical touch and caring interactions with others.

Our Heavenly Father is no different. He wants you to love Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength—with every fiber of our being! He believed in this concept of loving people so much that He send His only Son to die for us. In this act, He showed us how much it means to love your neighbor.

Your neighbor isn’t just the person who lives beside you, across the street, or even the weird guy who lives a few houses down. When you are told to love your neighbor as you would yourself, He meant for you to show His love to all you meet.

When you go to work, shine your light and show His love to your co-workers. When you are shopping, show a frazzled mom who is at the end of her patience how much she means to God and how important she is. When you walk down the street, say hello, smile, and wave to all you encounter.

God loves you so much. It’s time we share His love with everyone, not just a select few. Who have you maybe been avoiding or not paying attention to that needs to know they are seen, appreciated, and loved?
