We Are Shepherds

As an adult, you have someone in your life whom you care for. As a parent, you care for your children. In business, you care for your employees when you’re in management and your peers. When you serve at church, you care for those you serve with and lead.

No matter the capacity at which you lead, there is someone God has given you to watch over and serve as an example for. You are to serve them and care for them willingly—not out of obligation because you feel you must.

Just because you have a title doesn’t mean you’re better than anyone else. So many people come down with this high horse syndrome. You may have fallen prey to it or be on the receiving end of it from someone else.

Our actions speak louder than words, but our words can and do hurt. People will not always remember what you said in any given situation, but they will remember how they felt because of how you chose to treat them.

Choose to treat others with respect and love no matter your position in life. Allow God’s light to shine through you by caring for others in your flock. If you have daily contact with someone, willingly watch over them and let them know they are appreciated, special, and loved.

Who are you shepherding that is in your flock of care?
