Everybody has a dream! What’s your dream? Maybe it’s to write a book, become the CEO of a prominent company in your field, or to be blessed as a parent of multiple children. Whatever it is, there is a dream in your heart that you desire to come to fruition.
God also has a dream for you. It may look a little different than yours, but is always worth pursuing. There are trials, seasons, and experiences in your life that help prepare you for His God-given purpose.
What happens when your dream collides with His dream for you? It’s magic only God could orchestrate. One prominent biblical figure who illustrates this magic is Mary, the mother of Jesus. She was a young woman ready to be married to Joseph. She was saving herself for him in marriage and dreamt of being a great wife to him and a mother to as many children as God would bless them with.
Her dreams were in sight and while she pursued them, God saw her and chose to tell her His dream for her life. What would have happened if she decided not to allow God to change her life by giving her His dream for her? Because she said yes to God, we are able to say yes to Christ! Without her willingness to pursue His dream, God’s dream of Christ being born unto Mary would have taken a different turn.
One thing to note though is the fact that when Mary said yes to God, she wasn't totally abandoning her own dream. God was merely adding to it and making her life even more spectacular and rewarding both on earth and for all eternity.
When you choose to dream God’s dream for you, His blessings will flow in abundance and you will live a fulfilling life you could have only dreamed of.
What dream has God placed in your heart? You may feel unqualified or unprepared for His task, but don’t let that stop you. If He tells you it’s for you to accomplish, He will qualify and prepare you for whatever needs to happen to see the dream realized!
