How Is Your Heart?

There is something about the innocence of a child. They trust easily and will do and try many things that as adults would embarrass us. Why doesn’t it embarrass them?

They have no inhibitions! Most children have yet to experience things in this world that have the ability to deeply change a person.

In Matthew 18:3, Jesus challenges the people by telling them unless they become like little children, they won’t be able to enter the kingdom of heaven.

This may sound harsh, but let’s break it down. You and I allow so many things to alter the way we look at and feel about ourselves (and those around us). We have many inhibitions holding us back.

How do you worship? Are you engaged—singing, clapping, raising your hands? There is nothing to say we have to do these things, but I have to ask, why wouldn’t you? Yes, God is more concerned with the posture of your heart.

But, if you truly love God and accept His Son, the joy you feel deep down in your heart should be enough for you to want nothing more than to worship Him with everything you are—because of who He is.

Don’t be intimidated by others around you while at church on Sunday or anywhere else for that matter. Worship is a gift we give to Him and it’s between each of us as individuals and our God.

Try it! Next time you’re at church, sing your heart out and raise your hands in surrender and praise to Him—don’t worry about what others think. Live your life with joy because of the saving grace of God. Let the way you live be a testament of how good your God is!
