In most towns and cities, you can drive around and see a significant amount of churches on the street corners. Having been a part of an active and thriving church ministry, I admit that not all churches are the same. My two cents is that the local church should always be seeking the lost and providing them an opportunity to come back into a right relationship with God. This should be the collective mission of the church—the universal church.
The church is not a building or confined to the building where services happen. It is the people who gather there.
It’s not right for churches to be in competition with one another! God wants to see us united and displaying His wisdom and love to all. What could the people of God do if we put aside our differences and joined together in pursuit of saving our cities in the name of Christ?
