You are a Masterpiece

As children, we are taught the golden rule of treating others the way we want to be treated. As adults, some of us have the opposite mindset. When someone at work takes your idea and passes it off as their own, you have it in for them. Or what about that person who cuts you off on the way home from work and you nicely “wave” at him as you exit the freeway. Whatever the case, God gives a command—not a suggestion—to keep as a high priority. We are to love everyone, even those we don’t particularly care for. Loving them doesn’t mean we want to give them all hugs and be their best friends. It does mean that we are to see them as the God of love sees them. You are God’s masterpiece that He has created just as He wanted you. If we view everyone as God’s masterpiece it’s a little harder to make a negative comment or hold anger or resentment toward them. These are sins that damage our hearts to the love that God wants to freely give us so we can extend it to others. What is wrong with our society today? There is a heart problem going on. What will it take for us to love everyone, always, and to view each person as not only a work in progress, but a wonderfully made work from the Creator?
