We all want to be known and seen. There is a desire to make a difference and stand up for something in all of us. The Bible is clear though that we are to make a difference not so we can boast, but so God can be exalted. It’s all about people over pride. When Christ washed the disciples’ feet in John 13, He was showing us that the people who serve others and put their needs first are more righteous than those who make sure to take care of themselves first. As Christians, we are to live like Christ. When we take credit for something, we are taking away the honor that should have gone to God. It is through His strength and mighty Spirit within us that we are able to do more than we could have ever dreamed. He loves the humble—the people who put Him first—no matter the cost. What has God been able to do through you as you serve others with a humble heart?
