Give Me Life

Loyalty and obedience. You can’t have one successfully without the other.

Loyalty is about being devoted in your allegiance to someone or something and it starts with your heart being dedicated to that person or cause no matter what. Obedience is about willingly submitting to someone or something. You have to be loyal first and obedience will follow.

You choose to be loyal to God when you accept Christ and what He did for you, reconciling your relationship with God. This is where some people stop. They know where their allegiance lies and that is enough—or is it?

Obedience is about willingly submitting to God’s authority, knowing you aren't in control. If you are loyal to God but not obedient, you are not fully submitting yourself to Him. To choose Christ means you are then one with Him and will carry on the Good News of the Gospel to the ends of the earth as He commissioned all of His followers to do.

When you accepted Christ, you were made a new creation in Him. You died to your old self and He made you new. This is truly life changing and the best news ever! So when you died to yourself, you lived again because of Christ’s sacrifice for you.

His will is always better than yours and no matter how hard you try, you aren’t in control. Surrender is hard and must be done daily as you walk through life with Him.

The big question is, if you come against a crisis in your life, will you choose God’s will or yours—total surrender to Him or trying controlling your own life?
