It sure does feel good to be rescued! If you talk to anyone who has ever been in a desperate situation where they couldn’t see a way out, they will probably tell you what got them through was holding on to hope.
Hope is the belief that something will happen that you want to happen. Faith on the other hand is believing that something will happen for which there is no proof.
There is only one way to get to heaven and be reconciled with God and that is through acceptance of Jesus Christ and the atonement He made for your sins—that should have condemned you to death. Acceptance of Him doesn’t mean this life will not hold tough times and trials for you.
It only means He will build up your faith and resilience as you continue to put your trust in Him. Resilience is developed when you hope for something and you continue to do so even when you don’t get what you’d hoped for.
There are some points in life when failure and disappointment seep their way in. The only way to not let them push you down is to look up and hold on to the hope that is Jesus.
These unfortunate moments are only temporary. We have to remember this in the perspective that eternity is forever.
No matter how much this world tries to push you down and hold you back, He will rescue you. Let Him be your strength and the reason you sing.
Let Him be the air that fills your lungs and what gives you victory over your worst days. You can’t get through life alone.
Think about a time when you needed rescued? How did God work the situation for good and His glory?
