There are many things you will ask for in your lifetime. As a kid it may have been a toy, a treat, or to go somewhere special.
Since you’ve grown, the requests have probably changed a bit: to find “your people” to do life with, to like what you do for a profession, and to have everything you need and then some.
These are no small requests and it takes some planning to attain them. It’s a good thing God is in the planning business.
Some hire professional planners when all they have to do is go to the One who has already planned out the whole world and everything in it. God was there when it began and He will still be there when it ends.
For this reason you are not to chase this life to achieve any accolades and rewards this world has to offer. This doesn’t mean that you won’t at some points be given rewards for your achievements.
It means above all else you’re to fix your eyes on the heavenly prize for which God has planned out for you in advance. His will is to be done on the earth as it is in heaven.
This is where the term heaven on earth comes from. It isn’t something that is pursued and never attained, but something that you can attain because of your pursuit for God.
So first, seek Him, His Kingdom, and His will above all else—to Him be all the glory. Live righteously because you have been called by Him and everything you do will be used for your good as a result of loving Him.
The end result? He will give you all that you need. As long as it lines up with the will of God for your life, He wants nothing more than to give you the desires of your heart.
We often misconstrue that because things don’t work out when we pray for them that they are unanswered prayers. The only unanswered prayers though are the ones that are never prayed.
If you come to Him in prayer with a humble heart and seeking Him, He will answer you. Things may not always turn out the way you would like, but they will turn out according to His will.
Free choice comes in to play, but God always has the last word.
What is it you are seeking God for today?
