Creating Space

Do you remember filling out college applications? Not only did grades seem to matter, but activities and clubs you were involved in mattered. They wanted to see a well-rounded individual who would be a good fit for their campus involvement.

In our belief in God, it’s important to have faith in Him, but faith without works doesn’t work. Works are not something we need to achieve more and more of to obtain approval from God. Being obedient to Him through faith allows space for Him to work in and through us.

Sometimes we get so caught up doing things for God we forget He wants to do life with us. When you accept Christ, you are giving up control of your life to Him—knowing His ways and His will are always better than yours.

Jesus sacrificed Himself because it was God’s purpose for Him. He has a purpose specifically for you too. Jesus is perfect and sinless. This is because He is God incarnate. You and I can never be perfect and God doesn’t expect or ask us to be.

I think so many people fall into the trap of believing they can never be good enough for God. You don’t need to wait to turn your life over to Him until it’s tidy and neat. God will meet you right in the middle of your mess.

He specializes in helping the lost, lonely, left out, and messed up. God’s power works best when you have come to realize you will have weaknesses and you won’t be perfect. With God leading you and His Spirit living in you, you can be strong and achieve far greater than you could ever imagine—all for His glory.

Your obedience to Him creates the space He needs to do what He does best. Obedience to Him leads to freedom for you through a fulfilling life living out His good and perfect will.

Are you creating space for God to work in and through you? How has He used you to make an impact for Christ in your family, your workplace, or your community?
