Let me start by asking two questions. What is the most important thing to you that you have? What do you wish you could have, but don’t currently have?
The answer to these two questions could be eye opening for you because it reveals what you value as important in your life. What you value as most important has an impact on your present position as well as your future endeavors.
Material things are nice and help us to be temporarily happy—like when you buy the latest phone and a year or two later another one comes out and you feel you need it too.
I’m not opposed to buying new and nice things, but it is important not to make it the focus of your life to always have the latest and greatest.
The Bible says the one who stores up earthly treasures is a fool. No matter what you have, the only thing you will take with you from this earth when you go is your eternal salvation.
Accepting Christ is only the first step to living a life with Him. Having a relationship with someone is about spending time with them. You know their favorite things and their hopes and dreams.
Being in a close relationship with God is reciprocal. Through prayer you share with Him everything you are going through and trust He will always be there with you, even in the tough times.
In knowing Him, He shares His love, wisdom, understanding, with you. A relationship with Him makes you the richest person ever. Through Him you are the sons and daughters of a King. You are an heir to His riches.
How would you live your life differently if you truly knew God—His hopes and dreams for you?
