We pay for health insurance in anticipation of needing it. We purchase home warranty plans just in case something breaks. How should your spiritual life be any different?
It’s important to create a firm foundation so that when troubles come, you have something to stand on that will not give way. Jesus is your spiritual insurance policy.
The question is though, how can you build the foundation in such a way that you will be saved. The answer, get to know the one who has promised to save you.
When you read God’s Word and pray consistently, you learn about His promises. These words get hidden in your heart and when the time comes that you need to have there reassurance, the words will already be there and the Holy Spirit will be living on the inside of you.
Even Jesus was tempted, but He didn’t let the devil win. He remembered the words of His Father and stood His ground against the devil.
Knowing Jesus was tempted and you will be as well, how are you preparing your heart and your spirit now for what lies ahead?
