We have a limited capacity on what we can see, hear, and comprehend. All of your experiences put parameters on your understanding.
Barriers are not necessarily a bad thing, but if you let them limit the way you live then you aren’t living your life to the full. Our comprehension of what is possible can be pushed and expanded by scientific studies, experiments, and through exploration of the unknown.
But you and I are children of a God who can do immeasurably more than we can think or imagine. So when you get a medical diagnosis, He knows more about the outcome than you do. When you’re fighting what seems like a losing battle in your marriage, He is there with you working in your hearts.
When you lose your job and your self-worth all in one day, He is there to pick you up, remind you of who He says you are, and help you dream dreams for your future that are better than anything you’re leaving behind. Only God knows what the future holds.
In a famous movie, one of the characters writes herself a letter in the future to read in the present. When she is in the present and tries to read the letter it is blank. Why, she questions? One of the others states it’s because the future hasn’t been written yet.
In our understanding, this is what you and I believe. “The future is what you make it,” and “You can be anything you want to be.” These phrases are good to an extent, but not entirely accurate.
God created the world and He created you. He is the only One who knows when this world shall pass away and when your days will be through. He knew the greatness within you before He spoke you into being.
His plans and ways are always higher and greater than ours. What He has in store for your life is more than you could ever believe for yourself. He prepared a way for you in advance.
Before you existed, He was already creating a way where there seemed to be no way for you to do exceedingly and abundantly more than you could ever think or ask.
So let me ask you today, with your limited human knowledge, are you trusting in your own understanding or are you putting your trust in Him who already knows and has planned greatness to grow within you and through you for His glory on the earth?
