In our country and our world there is a history of slavery among different races, ethnicities, and genders. There are some places it still exists today.
Before Jesus you and I were slaves to our sin. Nothing we could ever do would fix the broken relationship between us and God. Jesus’ sacrifice redeemed you and wiped your sins away.
Some have accepted Christ and still find themselves living in fear that continues to keep them in slavery. What keeps you in fear? Not being perfect or as good as someone else? Needing to control everything and everyone so that everything goes according to your plans?
Whatever keeps you captive take it to God and lay it at His feet. You have been set free by Jesus Christ so you no longer have to be a slave to your fears.
Through accepting His Son Jesus, you have been adopted by the Father and therefore share in the inheritance of Christ. His adoption of you has the power to set you free for good if you are willing to let go and let Him lead your life.
What fear are you still holding on to that keeps you from living in freedom?
