Have you ever sat around a campfire or maybe a bonfire? When you got home the first thing you did was probably throw the clothes you had on into the wash.
Why? The aroma of smoke and fire has a way of seeping into everything around it. There is a way though to stay protected.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were living their lives to honor and glorify God in a time when it was more popular to worship the king.
The king got angry that they wouldn’t bow down to him because he thought he was of more importance that God. So the king decided to tie them up and throw them into a fiery furnace.
The three still stood by God and because of their faith and trust in Him, not only did they not burn up, God was there with them in the fire. They walked out and didn’t even smell like smoke!
Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, there are fires we must go through—relationship issues, disappointment, and so much pain.
But you have a choice. You can let the fire affect you or you can allow God to be in it with you.
He will protect you. He will never leave you and He will make sure you come out stronger than when you went in.
