Zen Shin, a Japanese, Buddhist philosopher once said, “ A flower does not think of competing to the flower next to it. It just blooms.”
Being comfortable in your own abilities and self-worth helps you to not fall in the trap of comparison. Unfortunately this is easier said than done.
So many of us want to know we are “winning,” as if everything in life is a competition. This mindset goes against everything God wants for us.
He may have given you some of the skills and talents as the person next to you, but His goal in doing so wasn’t so you would compete as much as you would collaborate.
It takes all of us to make this world go around. It would be a pretty boring place if we were all the same. God aka you to look at who you are and how God made you.
Ask Him to help you pursue His purpose for your life so that all you do will honor Him. Then you can be sure to not be hindered by pride, jealousy, or comparison.
