Some days it feels like every time we turn around we are facing opposition. We feel pressure to be what we aren’t all around us and at times it can get to you.
When you make the personal decision to accept Christ and agree to let Him lead you through life, you will still face the temptations of those who have not accept Him. The difference is with God’s Holy Spirit living in you, you have the opportunity for His peace, grace, love, and compassion to overflow from you instead of lacking these things and holding yourself back from what God has planned for you.
Some you have known before this decision will not understand the change in your mindset. When asked to go to a certain party or act a specific way, you would think first if it is what God would want you to do. If it isn’t, then you won’t. They will not be able to comprehend why you don’t want to be who you once were.
Don’t let this stop you from standing strong in your faith which you acquired upon accepting Christ. When you have faith, you won’t leave things to chance. You will know there is a purpose for everything. Don’t be saddened by those who don’t understand. Instead, continue to be a light for them to lead them back to Jesus too.
On a bigger scale, this political season has been brutal. Just like any other election year the candidates are on complete opposite sides and everyone in America has the chance to choose which one they want making decisions for us for the next four years.
One thing is for certain though. No matter the outcome that you wake up to on Wednesday morning God is still on His throne and still in control. That has never changed and it won’t change now.
If God is for us, who can be against us. We may have a brutal four years to come, but with God on our side and Jesus by our side we won’t be shaken. The God of the universe didn’t create the entire world with us in it and then leave us to be on our own.
You and I do have free will and are certain to make choices at times that go against what God wants for our lives. When this happens, He is always there waiting with open arms of forgiveness—extending His grace and mercy. You have been redeemed and no one can change that or take that away.
When have you experienced living for Christ and someone close to you not understanding why you aren’t willing to be your old self anymore?
