Setting goals is important so you always have something to work for. Since life is a marathon until the end and not a sprint, you will never “arrive” and finish until your last breath.
Many fail to attain their goals because they don’t have a plan that includes smaller goals along the way. No one in history has ever gone from setting a big goal to achieving it immediately after.
Wars are not won because of one battle, but as the result of many battles and people giving their all to attain the end goal. Each day you don’t complete all the big things you set out to do isn’t wasted.
God sees you and if you let Him He will help you take the steps toward His dreams for you. Sometimes the steps are small and seem insignificant, but they are needed just as much as the steps where you struggle to find a handhold and your feet are slipping.
All mountains you dare to ascend take time, effort, and faith. Every experience you have is meant to be encouragement to persevere—even if it isn’t a pleasant time in your life. The truths you learn from your experiences is what fuels your faith and keeps you ascending.
Eventually you will reach past the struggle you were facing or the goal you were striving for. This doesn’t mean you’ve arrived and that you’re done. It does mean you have gained the faith, strength, and experience with God at your side to face the next mountain you encounter.
You aren't changed by the mountain itself, that stood before you. The ascent is what changes you and grows your faith. Only with Him can you achieve the greatest of dreams.
What mountains have you climbed grew your faith and would have been impossible without God’s help?
